Greetings to all outdoorsmen and women!

This coming year, 2019,  will mark the 22nd year for the Sioux County Sportsmen’s Club. Another year is just about to pass again. 2018 has shaped up to be another great year for Sioux County with all the improvements and developments happening.   It is very exciting to see all of the improvements and updates being done throughout the entire county to the parks and public grounds for the enjoyment of everyone to be able to enjoy the outdoors. By your support as members, sponsors, businesses and individual donors  we can continue to preserve the future for our youth to enjoy the outdoors. Thanks to everyone for your support.

The Sioux County Sportsmen’s club held there annual kids events again this summer.

  • At the Outdoor Skills Day this year there were 196 kids, 75 adults and 40 volunteers attending.  SCSC gave out many prizes including 10 air rifles and bb guns as well as a youth rifle and shotgun.
  • This year at the Kids Fishing Day at Sandy Hollow there were about 70 people attending. SCSC gave out prizes for the most fish, biggest fish and the casting contest.
  • Thanks to the Sioux County Conservation Board and all the volunteers for putting on these events.

More public ground. Another piece of property has been added to a Sioux County public wildlife area. This piece adds 15.6 acres to the Rock Wildlife Area just west of Rock Valley  north of the walk trail. Thanks to all of you who enjoy the outdoors that make this possible. Your support helps with this and future projects.

The Sioux County Nature Center construction has started. Dirtwork was completed in October. The footings have been poured, light form walls and block laying is taking place. Construction will continue through the winter. It will take about 1 year to complete putting completion at next  winter. Fundraising is still needed to cover exhibits and details that will make this building an attraction for all.

Gun Calendar – Help Double the money

You don’t want to miss on this years calendar! $500 Gift Cards.  This year in the calendar there will be 32 guns and 20 Scheels Gift Cards of $500.  Drawings will be every Wednesday throughout the year for the item on that date.    (*a cash buyout of gun can be redeemed in its place). This is a joint effort between the Sioux County Sportmen’s Club and Pheasants Forever Chapter #36 going into a separate fund which can be doubled making every $35 purchase of a calendar turn into $70.  Contact any board member from SCSC or go to our website for local businesses that carry the calendars.
